======= System Requirements =======
* Operating System: Microsoft Windows (2000/XP/Vista or higher) / Linux / Apple Mac OS X (Intel version).
* Processor: Any Fast CPU with SSE2 supported (recommended at least 2Ghz). Dual Core for speed boost.
* Graphics: Any graphics card that supports Direct3D 9 or OpenGL 2.1. See: *link*

======= Runtime Library Requirements =======
Dolphin needs you have to have the libraries listed below installed.

[Windows]
-MS Visual C++ Runtime 2008 SP1: This fixes the "side by side" / "application config" & model errors
Microsoft VC++ 2008 SP1 Redist x86 - For 32bit Windows
Microsoft VC++ 2008 SP1 Redist x64 - For 64bit Windows

-The DirectX November 2008 Runtime: This fixes the plugin loading errors
Microsoft DirectX Updater

[Linux]
-install libbluetooth: fixes the "PANIC failed to load plugin Plugins/libPlugin_wiimote.so" error for linux users

======= Video Card Requirements =======
You must have a video card that support OpenGL 2.x fully or Direct3D 9.0c.

Note: The Direct3D9 video plugin is old/outdated and it looks like it doesn't work anymore. We recommend using the Dolphin OpenGL Video plugin for better video emulation.

[color=red]Note: Make sure your drivers are up to date!

actually, it will not even load a game. it gives me an error saying "cant create opengl renderer. you might be missing some required opengl extensions. check the logs for more info"
where do i get those required opengl extensions?

ok dude i have mobile intel r 945 express chipset family and dolphin works very well thank you very much to boogerlad. i also have only 504mb of ram. Dolphin runs fine at 7fps all the way to 42fps in gameplay. in menus its like 36-200 use direct x 9 it still works fine for me. try using V 1804, thats the one i used first. Hope that helps Smile

Of course, because Direct3D works with Intel Cards, but OpenGL will not work with them.

I've got two little questions regarding the use of my notebook and my PC.

At first, I just tried out Dolphin on my notebook with Vista, which I bought in September. The components are:

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2390 @ 1.86 Ghz
Memory: 4.096 MB
Video card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400
Mode: 1280x800 with 32 bit

I'm not sure if more data is necessary. With my notebook Dolphin works okay, but not very good. I tested Mario Party 4 and Paper Mario 2 which both had nice speed in the menu, but later on I got down to around 10 fps.

After that I wanted to see what my "old" PC with XP can do for which I bought some hardware one and a half years ago:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2200 Mhz
Memory: 1.024 MB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Mode: 1280x1024 with 32 bit

Well, the result was similar. First I had to install something so that the errors on XP would disappear. Yet the DolphinIL.exe does not work when I want to load a rom.

So now my questions: Why does the DolphinIL.exe crash on XP, while the normal Dolphin.exe doesn't? Both of them work just fine on Vista. And how come that games have an equal speed on my notebook and PC? Is it just because of the low memory on my PC? Or are there any settings I still have to change in Dolphin?

Thanks beforehand for your answers. ^^

the equal speed is because the CPUs and GPUs of both are both nearly at the same level.
if you bought the laptop for being able to play more detailed games i have to disappoint you Pfft not possible Wink
laptops are NO gaming-stations. they are for short surfing or working while sitting in a train... not for gaming.
gaming-notebooks are far more expensive than normal PCs and when you have a gaming-notebook you have to carry your pocket-cold-fusion-generator with you to get enough power for it for playing more than 20 minutes at fullspeed.

short: desktop-replacement - good for LAN-Parties but not for anything else...
you have bought no gaming notebook. you bought a working notebook

My Rig is www.abload.de/img/sonic09_126821n0f3_203ttr1.gif for Dolphin

no sound in a game? -> READ THIS!

No no, I'm aware of it that I didn't buy a notebook for playing games. I bought it for university and for that it's good enough. xD I just use my notebook far more often than the PC because I'm more used to it. That's why I tried out Dolphin on the notebook first.
The only thing which surprised me was the equal speed on the PC when I thought it should be much better because of the Dual Core. GPUs are quite equal, but the CPUs also are? o.o So the problem isn't about the 1 GB RAM, but about the processor? xD

i have:

intel core2duo t5250 @ 1.5Ghz
nVidia 8600m GS 256MB
2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667
windows vista home premium 32bit

it's a laptop, and yeah it warms up whenever i try to game on it!

i'm getting great performance really for most games. but flow3184 is right: gaming laptops are bull, and laptops in general aren't gaming friendly. their cooling solutions are usually very inadequate for gaming. they're usually just fine for normal use though.

Please give a link where you can download the DirectX End-user Runtime not on Microsoft.com. The reasons for this are not going to explain.

Because you have an illegal copy of windows and therefore can't verify your legal copy of windows.

Yes, but I have no choice. I could install legal Windows, but from another computer. She did not go on my computer.

So you give me a link where you can download the DirectX End-user Runtime?

Just download a redistributable 90mb package, it works on almost every windows, x86 x64.

Just google something like: DirectX 9 nov 2008 redist and you'll find it in no time.

Not providing info about bypassing microsoft site, but only for portability to any windows system without active internet connection.

I've downloaded everything listed but everytime I load a game it runs at super-slow-fps.

Maybe there are some config settigns that I'm not using but so far I can't find any.

Here are my specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium (i think, another version may have been used to upgrade)
Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE with latest drivers
AMD Athlon Dual-Core
32-bit
1024 mb memory

thanks in advance
